Just a little intro to our latest idea…
Once the bus is ready to move into, and The Bearded One has finished working, we are going to be embarking on a tour of the mainland England, Scotland, and Wales. The aim of the tour is to visit every single county on the mainland. We would love to travel to the islands and Northern Ireland too, but at this point in time, the logistics involved with shipping the bus are just too complicated and costly. Maybe in the future we’ll do those bits.
As part of The Great British County Tour we will be visiting all the must-see places and attractions, and sampling the local foods.
The itinerary is pretty simple at the moment; we will be starting from our home county (East Sussex), and heading westwards through West Sussex, Hampshire, Dorset, Devon, and Cornwall. In time we will draw up a full itinerary with rough dates for each county. Feel free to let us know of any places we should include on our visit to your county, any restaurants that we shouldn’t miss, or any really good play spaces for the munchkins. Oh, and any parking spots you know of that could handle an 11.3m long bus!

I’m loving reading your updates and watching your videos.
The UK has so much to see and do, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Do you know about Parkopedia? In case you don’t it’s a parking app where you can set a height filter as lots of car parks have height barriers. It might be an idea to find out where you can park then plan your tour round that? Use a sat nav where you can set your vehicle size so you don’t get stuck – Nozatec is a good cheap one. Apologies if you’ve got all this in hand, but there’s so much we didn’t know when we started motorhoming!
My home county is Yorkshire and it’s such a big county. York is beautiful, full of history, museums, shops, cathedral, the Shambles, Yorvik exhibition to name a few. It gets very busy in summer so maybe go out of school hols. The North Yorkshire coast is beautiful with lots of seaside resorts. Filey is small with a fab (Dhougal friendly) beach. Scarborough is a big resort with lots to do. Robin Hoods Bay is beautiful but you may struggle as it’s very hilly. Whitby is a must visit – ry to go when it’s goth weekend – really good fun. Daley Forest is also recommended. From Yorkshire you can move up to the Northumberland coast – so many great beaches and also the home of Bamburgh castle, Alnwick castle (connection to Harry Potter), Lindisfarne, boat trips to see the seals and birds. This area is next on our list, we’re going to stay at either Seahouses or Beadnell Bay.

Thank you so much. I had heard of Parkopedia but I didn’t realise you could input a height limit – that will be very useful! Thanks also for the satnav mention, we only have a car one at the moment and will definitely need a new one for the bus.
